Infiniti Mall is a chain of shopping malls in India and is a premiere destination for shopping, entertainment and food. It is a subsidiary of K Raheja Realty Group, which has been in the business of construction and property development since 1956. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has been established under Food Safety and Standards , 2006 which consolidates various acts & orders that have hitherto handled food related issues in various Ministries and Departments. FSSAI has been created for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.

Highlights of the Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006

Various central Acts like Prevention of Food Adulteration Act,1954,Fruit Products Order , 1955, Meat Food Products Order,1973,
Vegetable Oil Products (Control) Order, 1947,Edible Oils Packaging (Regulation)Order 1988, Solvent Extracted Oil, De- Oiled Meal and Edible Flour (Control) Order, 1967, Milk and Milk Products Order, 1992 etc will be repealed after commencement of FSS Act, 2006.
The Act also aims to establish a single reference point for all matters relating to food safety and standards, by moving from multi- level, multi- departmental control to a single line of command. To this effect, the Act establishes an independent statutory Authority – the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India with head office at Delhi. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and the State Food Safety Authorities shall enforce various provisions of the Act.

FIFI

The formation of Forum of Indian Food Importers was initiated by couple of like-minded importers of food products into India in August 2009. Rounds of initial interactions and delibrations led to the formation of the group by eight key importers as a platform to interact on regular basis to share and resolve common issues. A few such interactions were all that were required to agree on the need to formalise the platform.

The Forum of Indian Food Importers, or FIFI as it is popularly referred to, was in place by end 2009.

Forum of Indian Food Importers represents Food & Beverage Importers from India.

The objective of the FIFI is to :

Promote, encourge and support development of Food & Beverages Market in India.
Highlightissues relating to F&B products like FSSAI, Meterology, Animal / Plant Quarantine
Working with authorities to rationalise tarriffs and minimise non tariff barriers

HPMF

Purchase Managers from hotels, restaurants, catering companies and the airline industry have joined hands to form an association of purchasing professionals ‘ Hospitality Purchasing Managers Forum ‘ (HPMF) , a non-profit organisation registered under the Charity Commissioner’s Office , Mumbai.
HPMF is an interactive platform for purchase managers to share, interact, network, exchange their ideas, views and experiences on matters related to purchases and procurement.

The members meet on a regular basis. Besides managers, assistant managers are also the members of the forum. The objective of HPMF is to guide and organise hospitality procurement fraternity, to create a platform for convergence of procurement managers and vendors, to promote best practices and green initiatives, to encourage procurement of high quality products and to facilitate economies of large scale buying through collective procurement.”
HPMF plans to affiliate with reputed universities and institutes for special courses (six months and one year) on basics and intricacies of materials management. HPMF has also launched their interactive website hpmf.org which will soon be operative & act as an information directory for members to obtain key vendor information like new vendors/ black listed vendors / potential vendors etc.

HPMF team works with lots of enthusiasm, hope and determination to do something for the Purchasing fraternity from the Hospitality Industry.

Association of Food Scientists and Technologists

The Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India), established in 1957, is one of the largest professional and educational organizations, with around 3500 members – food scientists and technologists, across the globe. The major objective of AFST(I) is to stimulate and advance knowledgebase on various aspects of Food Science and Technology by organizing National and International Conferences and bringing out technical publications including prestigious journals-Journal of Food Science and Technology (JFST) and Indian Food Industry Mag (IFI Mag). The association recognizes talent and excellence in the profession of Food Science and Technology by conferring various Awards and Fellowship.

AFST(I) membership is open to all food professionals engaged in academic, industrial and other related activities. One of the fundamental duties of the Association is to bring together members on a platform along with the experts in the field not only from India but also from abroad, along with the captains of the industries to share the commonalities of the cutting- edge technology in today’s changing scenario.

AFST(I), is always in the forefront in organizing Conferences, Seminars, Symposia, Workshops, Students award functions and factory visits for the benefits of members. The Association regularly holds discussion meetings on basic and applied subjects that are relevant and useful for the members working in food industries, research institutes, academic institutions and food safety and quality regulators.
